School Caretaker - Secondary School (Tower Hamlets)

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and proactive Caretaker to join our welcoming secondary school in Tower Hamlets. This is a vital role within the school, ensuring that our buildings and grounds are safe, secure, and well-maintained for students, staff, and visitors.

The Role:

Carry out day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of the school site

Ensure the school is safe, secure, and presentable at all times

Oversee site security, including opening and locking up the premises

Monitor and maintain health and safety standards across the school

Support with setting up for events, assemblies, and examinations

Liaise with external contractors and support services when required

We are looking for someone who:

Is dependable, practical, and takes pride in their work

Has good DIY/maintenance skills and a problem-solving approach

Can work independently and as part of a team

Is flexible and willing to adapt to the needs of a busy school environment

Ideally has previous caretaker or premises experience (though training can be provided)
