About Us:

South Lincolnshire Academies Trust has over 550 teaching and support staff working in the four schools (Bourne Academy, Spalding Academy, Giles Academy and Cowley Academy) that make up our highly successful Trust.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, committed and highly organised Safeguarding Manager / Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join our dedicated safeguarding team for maternity cover at Cowley Academy.

This is a pivotal role responsible for supporting the school's safeguarding and child protection arrangements, ensuring that students are safe, supported and able to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead, senior leaders, external agencies and families to promote a culture where safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.

The postholder will act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, managing safeguarding concerns, coordinating interventions, maintaining accurate records and contributing to the strategic development of safeguarding practice across the school.

The successful candidate will have:

Essential:

* Experience of safeguarding and child protection work with children or young people.

* Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education.

* Experience of working with external agencies and multi-agency partnerships.

* Excellent communication, organisation and record-keeping skills.

* Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.

* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships.

* Commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children.

* Ability to remain calm and professional when managing complex cases.

Desirable

* Experience working in a secondary school setting.

* Relevant safeguarding, social care, education or youth work qualification.

* Previous experience as a Deputy DSL or safeguarding lead.

* Knowledge of safeguarding management systems such as MyConcern.
