Qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Prospero Teaching is looking for a Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant for a welcoming three form–entry primary school in Merton, South West London. This diverse primary school in Merton, South West London is committed to supporting pupils with mixed abilities. The successful Level 3 Teaching Assistant will support teaching and learning across the classroom, delivering targeted interventions, providing 1:1 and small–group support, and helping pupils make progress academically, socially, and emotionally.

The position is only open to experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistants, Teaching Assistants, and Learning Support Assistants who hold a recognised Level 3 qualification.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

Location: Merton, South West London

Position: Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant

Type of Work: Supporting pupils with SEND through 1:1 interventions, small–group work, behaviour support, and classroom–based learning activities

Start Date: September 2026

Contract Type: Full Time

Rate of Pay: GBP105 – GBP120 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Hours: 8:15am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

Hold a recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or equivalent relevant childcare/education qualification)

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, or Learning Support Assistant within a primary school setting

Experience supporting children with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, Social & SEMH

Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Up–to–date Safeguarding Training is desirable

GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and behaviour management skills

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application

Provide two professional child–related references covering at least the last two years

Must have a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or equivalent relevant childcare/education qualification)
