Description

Finished university and wondering what comes next?

If you're curious about child development, behaviour, mental health, or special educational needs, this could be the perfect first step. We're working with a welcoming school near Jesmond that's looking for a full-time Psychology Graduate to support pupils both in and out of the classroom.

No two days are the same. One moment you'll be helping a pupil build confidence with their reading, the next you'll be supporting children with additional needs, celebrating the little wins that make a big difference.

If you're considering a career in educational psychology, teaching, speech and language therapy, counselling or social work, you'll gain invaluable experience in a supportive school environment.

What you'll be doing

Supporting pupils across the school on a one-to-one basis and in small groups

Helping children with SEND, social, emotional and mental health needs

Encouraging positive behaviour and building confidence

Working closely with teachers and the school's SEND team

Creating a calm, supportive learning environment where every child can thrive

We're looking for someone who

Holds a Psychology degree (or a related subject)

Is passionate about supporting children and young people

Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Brings patience, empathy and a positive attitude

Has experience working with children or young people, this could be through volunteering, coaching, mentoring or youth work, although it's not essential

Why you'll love this role

Fantastic experience for aspiring Educational Psychologists, Teachers, Therapists and Mental Health Professionals

Friendly, supportive school with experienced staff who'll help you settle in

Opportunity to make a genuine difference every single day

Full-time, consistent work with the potential for longer-term opportunities

Why work with Protocol Education?

Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella companies

FREE access to our online CPD Academy

Personal support from a dedicated consultant

Opportunities across mainstream, SEND and alternative provision settings

Quick, straightforward registration process

Referral scheme where you can earn rewards for recommending friends

Thinking about a future in Educational Psychology? This role is an ideal way to gain hands-on experience in a school, develop your confidence and build the skills universities and employers are looking for.

Interested? We'd love to hear from you. Apply today and let's find a school where you can make a real impact from day one.

Bonus tip: If you haven't already completed Thrive training, ask us about Protocol Education's FREE Thrive training. It's a fantastic addition to your CV and can make you even more attractive to schools looking for emotionally aware, child-centred support staff.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
