Job Title: Primary School Cover Teacher

Location: Wakefield

Start Date: September

Salary: £140 to £180 per day, depending on experience

TeacherActive is working with a wide network of welcoming and supportive primary schools across Wakefield and is looking to recruit enthusiastic Primary School Cover Teachers for the new academic year. We have established relationships with schools throughout the area, giving you the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of school settings while making a real impact in the classroom.

This is a full-time role starting in September, providing day-to-day cover across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, with the potential for long-term placements where suitable opportunities arise. As a Primary School Cover Teacher, you will be expected to deliver engaging lessons, maintain excellent classroom management, and ensure pupils continue to make progress during staff absences.

The successful Primary School Cover Teacher will have:

QTS (ECTs are welcome to apply)

Recent UK primary teaching experience across Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2

Excellent classroom management skills

A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching in different school settings

Strong communication and organisational skills

A genuine passion for inspiring young learners
