Primary & Secondary Teaching Assistant (Unqualified)

Pay: £89.38 per day (£13.75 per hour)

Are you looking to start or grow your career in education? We’re seeking flexible, motivated Teaching Assistants to support pupils in both primary and secondary schools across Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT).

No formal qualifications are required, just enthusiasm, strong communication skills, and a commitment to helping pupils succeed.

What the Role Involves:

Supporting teachers within the classroom

Working 1:1 or with small groups to re-engage and motivate pupils

Assisting with behaviour support and calm de-escalation

Helping pupils with focus, routines, and emotional wellbeing

Adapting quickly to different school environments and expectations

Primary TAs will focus on supporting younger children in foundational learning, reading, maths, and social development.

Secondary TAs will support older students, often in specific subjects or with pastoral support, helping them succeed academically and emotionally.

About You:

We’re looking for individuals who are:

Confident drivers willing to travel daily

Patient, approachable, and calm under pressure

Strong communicators with a positive, proactive approach

Flexible and reliable

‍ Experienced in youth work, coaching, care, or similar (school experience helpful but not essential)

Passionate about supporting young people

What You’ll Need:

EWC registration (School Learning Support Worker category)

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service

Two recent references
