Job Title: Part-Time Youth Mentor

Location: Trafford

Start Date: April 2026 (After Easter Half Term)

Hourly Rate: GBP30 per hour

Average Hours: 20 hours per week

Role Overview:

Are you passionate about supporting students who have become disengaged from school? Do you have the desire to guide young people back into education and help them regain their confidence? This part-time Youth Mentor role in Trafford offers the perfect opportunity for someone looking to make a positive impact on students' lives.

In this role, you will work closely with students who may have struggled with school attendance or have been out of education for a while. Your key focus will be to guide and support these students in transitioning back into school, helping them rebuild their motivation, and improving their academic skills in Maths and English.

Key Responsibilities:

Mentor students, offering guidance and support to help them reintegrate into school life.

Provide Maths and English tuition, ensuring the lessons are tailored to the individual needs of each student.

Build positive and supportive relationships with students to enhance trust, confidence, and motivation.

Collaborate with school staff to track student progress and identify any additional support needs.

Develop and implement personalised plans to help students overcome obstacles and achieve their educational goals.

Provide support for students facing emotional and behavioural challenges, ensuring a safe and encouraging learning environment.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a mentoring, youth work, or educational setting.

Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or those who have been disengaged from education.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

A proactive, empathetic approach to helping students through their challenges.

Ideally, availability for at least 3 days a week.

Additional Information:

The role is part-time, with an average of 20 hours per week.

The hourly rate is GBP30, and the roles will be carried out during school hours (between 9 AM and 3 PM).
