Job Title: Part-Time Youth Mentor

Location: Salford

Start Date: April 2026 (After Easter Half Term)

Hourly Rate: GBP30 per hour

Average Hours: 20 hours per week

Role Overview:

Are you passionate about helping students who have been disengaged from school? Do you have a strong desire to guide and support young people in finding their way back into education? This part-time Youth Mentor role in Salford offers the perfect opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.

As a Youth Mentor, you will work closely with students who may have struggled to stay in school or have been out of education for some time. Your primary role will be to guide and support these students back into school life, helping them regain their confidence, motivation, and sense of purpose. Alongside this, you will provide Maths and English tuition to help them get back on track academically.

Key Responsibilities:

Mentor students to help them re-engage with education and transition back into school life.

Provide Maths and English tuition, tailored to each students individual needs.

Foster positive, supportive relationships with students to build trust and motivation.

Work alongside school staff to monitor progress and address any challenges faced by the students.

Create and implement personalised action plans to support the students academic and social development.

Help students manage emotional and behavioural difficulties, providing a safe and encouraging learning environment.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a mentoring, youth work, or educational setting.

Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or those who have been disengaged from education.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students and staff.

A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting students through personal and academic challenges.

Ideally, availability for at least 3 days a week.

Additional Information:

The role is part-time, with an average of 20 hours per week.

The hourly rate is GBP30, and the roles will be carried out during school hours (between 9 AM and 3 PM).
