Nursery Chef

Location: London

Hours: Full Time

Contract: Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and experienced Nursery Chef to join our welcoming nursery team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, balanced meals and snacks for children, whilst maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and safety.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking healthy meals and making a positive contribution to children's wellbeing and development.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare and cook healthy, nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 0-5 years.

* Plan varied menus that meet dietary, allergy, and nutritional requirements.

* Ensure food is prepared, stored, and served in accordance with food hygiene regulations.

* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.

* Monitor and manage food stock levels and place orders as required.

* Keep accurate records relating to food safety, temperatures, allergies, and cleaning schedules.

* Work closely with nursery staff to support children's dietary needs.

Requirements

* Previous experience working as a chef, cook, or catering assistant.

* Experience working in a nursery, school, or similar setting is desirable.

* Knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety regulations.

* Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above preferred).

* Ability to work independently and manage a busy kitchen.

* A friendly, professional, and flexible approach.
