This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact on students' learning and aspirations while contributing to the wider life of the academy.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and assess high–quality Music lessons across KS3 and KS4, ensuring lessons are engaging, differentiated, and inclusive. Monitor and support student progress and development, acting as a form tutor to a designated group of students. Contribute to operational and strategic planning within the department, including curriculum development, lesson resources, and departmental improvement plans. Participate in professional development and engage fully in the Performance Management Review process. Maintain appropriate records of student progress and achievement, using management information systems effectively. Communicate positively with students, parents, staff, and external agencies to support learning and student engagement. Promote a safe, motivating, and inclusive learning environment in line with academy policies. Person Specification / What We Are Looking For:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a relevant undergraduate degree. Experience teaching Music at secondary level; teaching practice is acceptable. Strong understanding of effective teaching and learning, including differentiation and assessment strategies. Knowledge of the National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4 and experience developing resources and lesson plans. Ability to motivate students, raise aspirations, and create a safe, inclusive learning environment. Good ICT skills, including use of interactive whiteboards and digital learning tools. Excellent communication, organisational, and time–management skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the wider life of the academy. Experience in multi–ethnic urban schools or 11–18 settings is desirable. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic academy and help students achieve their full potential in Music while contributing to whole–school improvement and enrichment.
