Male SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support – KS1 – Full Time

Location: Birmingham (Ward End area)

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Full-time, long-term

Daily Rate: £100 – £110 per day

A nurturing and inclusive primary school in the Ward End area of Birmingham is seeking a compassionate and reliable male SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a young boy in Key Stage 1 with mild Special Educational Needs (SEN).

About the Role:

Full-time, long-term position starting September 2025

Providing consistent 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil with mild SEN

Supporting classroom learning, engagement, and social interaction

Offering personal care support when required, including changing following occasional accidents

Building a strong and trusting relationship to support emotional wellbeing

Collaborating with the class teacher, SENCO, and support staffThe pupil responds positively to calm, supportive male staff who can offer both structure and kindness.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Be experienced or confident working with children, ideally in a school or SEN setting

Be comfortable with providing personal care in a respectful and supportive way

Bring patience, empathy, and a calm presence to the classroom

Have excellent communication and teamwork skills

Hold a valid DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain one)
