Description

Who We Are

In-Comm Training & Business Services is the West Midlands' leading employer-led training provider. With over four decades of skills experience and state-of-the-art academies in Aldridge and Telford, we deliver outstanding apprenticeship and technical training programmes across engineering and manufacturing. We are a values-driven, inclusive organisation that puts people — learners, employers, and colleagues alike — at the heart of everything we do.

Put Your Fluid Power Expertise to Work in a New Way

Are you an experienced maintenance engineer with a strong background in hydraulics and pneumatics, looking for a role where your knowledge can shape the next generation of engineers? At In-Comm, we are looking for a technically skilled and passionate individual to join our Training Operations team as a Maintenance Engineer (Fluid Power) / Tutor Assessor. Combining hands-on engineering expertise with teaching, coaching, and assessment, this is a genuinely fulfilling dual role for someone ready to take their career in an exciting new direction — or build on existing experience in vocational education.

What We're Looking For

*

A relevant engineering qualification at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Maintenance or Mechanical Engineering

*

GCSE Mathematics and English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)

*

Proven industry experience as a maintenance engineer with strong, practical knowledge of fluid power systems — hydraulics and pneumatics — including pumps, valves, actuators, compressors, and control systems

*

Experience of fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of mechanical and fluid systems

*

The ability to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging theoretical and practical training sessions

*

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support learners at all levels

*

Good record-keeping, organisational skills, and a commitment to quality and compliance

*

A teaching qualification (e.g. AET) or assessing qualification (e.g. CAVA) is desirable — training towards these is available and fully funded for the right candidate

*

Knowledge of PLCs, automated systems, or current fluid power technologies would be a welcome advantage

Our Culture & Benefits

Our values — Accountable, Integrity, Driven, Collaborative, Dynamic, and Diverse & Inclusive — define how we work together and how we support the people around us. At In-Comm, you will find a team that genuinely has your back and an organisation that invests in your growth. We offer:

*

Fully funded CPD, including teaching and assessor qualifications where not already held

*

Pension contributions and a health and wellbeing programme

*

Flexible working arrangements to support a healthy work-life balance

*

Access to state-of-the-art workshop facilities and industry-standard equipment

*

A collaborative and inclusive team environment with genuine opportunities for career development

*

The opportunity to make a lasting difference to learners' skills, confidence, and careers
