Chichester College Group have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Library Assistant at our Chichester College campus. You will join us on a bank basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £14.67 Per Hour.

Do you enjoy working in a busy College Library, meeting and helping students and staff and providing excellent customer service?

Our Chichester campus is looking for an enthusiastic Library Assistant on a flexible bank basis. You will be helping students find and use resources and assisting the College Librarian with improving and maintaining stock and facilities. You will be providing an excellent customer experience to everyone who visits the Library. Your role will be to provide a welcoming environment for our students, promoting our services, assisting students to make effective use of the library and all its resources, as well as carrying out a wide range of administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities of our Library Assistant:

Under the direction of the College Librarian, to provide frontline services to students and staff using the Library.

To assist in the development of resources and services of the Library, in keeping with Performance Indicators and action plans.

To participate in the administrative duties appropriate to the role.

To perform a range of routine duties necessary to the running of the Library including shelving and shelf-tidying, overdues, processing new stock, cash handling, general IT support, equipment maintenance etc.

To monitor the Library environment by ensuring an atmosphere conducive to learning and by monitoring the Library’s fabric equipment and building services.

To participate in training and development as required, subject to approval and funding.

Our ideal Library Assistant should have the below skills and experience:

Education to GCSE standard grade C or above (or equivalent) specifically including Maths and English

Knowledge of computerised library circulation systems

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook

Experience working in a library in a customer service context

Experience working in an educational library in a customer service context
