Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (Autism Specialist)

Location: Winslow

Start Date: September 2025

Contract Type: Full-time – Term Time Only

Salary: £90 – £120 per day (depending on experience)

About the Role:

A nurturing and inclusive school in Winslow is seeking a passionate Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). You will play a key role in helping children access learning, develop social and communication skills, and feel confident in a structured and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASC.

Implement strategies such as TEACCH, PECS, social stories, and visual timetables.

Support pupils with transitions, routines, and emotional regulation.

Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, families, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.

Encourage independence, social interaction, and resilience through structured activities.

Requirements:

Previous experience supporting children with Autism (school or care setting).

Knowledge of autism-friendly practices such as sensory regulation, positive handling, or structured teaching approaches.

Team Teach or similar behaviour management training (desirable).

Strong communication skills, patience, and ability to build positive relationships.

Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.
