Inclusion Learning Mentor

About Us:

South Lincolnshire Academies Trust has over 550 teaching and support staff working in the four schools (Bourne Academy, Spalding Academy, Giles Academy and Cowley Academy) that make up our highly successful Trust.

South Lincolnshire Academies Trust is seeking to appoint calm, committed and resilient Inclusion Learning Mentors to join our Pastoral and Inclusion team. This is an exciting new role designed to strengthen our provision for students who are experiencing barriers to learning, including behaviour, attendance and emotional needs.

You will be primarily based in our Inclusion Room, providing administrative support and working with students who are temporarily out of lessons. This role is not simply supervisory — it is a high-impact position focused on improving student outcomes, engagement and behaviour.

The role will include:

* Supporting the daily operation of the Inclusion Room, ensuring it is calm, structured and purposeful;

* Supervising students who are removed from lessons, ensuring they remain engaged in learning;

* Facilitating reflection on behaviour and support students to identify strategies for improvement;

* Preparing students for successful reintegration into lessons;

* Working closely with the Inclusion Manager, SENCO, Pastoral team and Teaching staff to contribute to support plans, student review meetings and ensuring students receive targets intervention programmes.

The successful candidate will:

* Experience working with young people (Essential;

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills (Essential);

* Ability to build positive relationships and manage behaviour effectively (Essential);

* Commitment to inclusion and supporting vulnerable students (Essential);

* Experience in a school, SEND or SEMH setting (Desirable);

* Knowledge of behaviour strategies and intervention approaches (Desirable);

* Relevant qualification e.g. Teaching Assistant Level 2/3 (Desirable);
