Location: Thurrock

Start Date: September 2026

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Salary: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)

Are you an enthusiastic and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a rewarding new opportunity this September?

A warm, welcoming and thriving primary school in Thurrock is seeking a confident HLTA to join their friendly team on a full–time basis. This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll play a key part in supporting teaching and learning across the whole school.

The Role

As the school's HLTA, you will:

Cover classes across Early Years to Year 6 during teacher PPA time, training and absence.Deliver engaging, well–planned lessons that maintain high standards of learning and behaviour.Lead small group and 1:1 intervention programmes when not covering classes, helping pupils make excellent progress in core subjects.Work closely with teachers and the wider school team to support pupils of all abilities.Build positive relationships with children, staff and parents, contributing to the school's supportive community.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful HLTA will:

Hold HLTA status or have significant experience leading whole–class teaching.Be confident teaching across the primary age range.Have excellent classroom management and communication skills.Be flexible, proactive and passionate about helping children achieve their best.Be committed to creating an inclusive, engaging and positive learning environment.
