Graduate Teaching Assistant - Primary School - Lewisham - September 2025 Start
Location: Lewisham, London
Contract: Term Time Only - Academic Year 2025/26
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm
Pay: £96 - £104 per day (PAYE, paid weekly)
Are you a graduate looking to start your career in education? We are working in partnership with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Lewisham who are seeking a dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025 for the full academic year.
This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring teachers, educational psychologists, or those passionate about supporting children's learning to gain valuable classroom experience.
Role & Responsibilities
Support the class teacher with planning, preparation, and delivery of engaging lessons
Work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning
Assist with classroom management and behaviour support
Help to create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
Support pupils with varying needs, including SEN, EAL, and gifted learners
Requirements
A graduate (degree in any subject considered)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A genuine interest in working in education and supporting young learners
Reliable, punctual, and committed to working term time only
Experience with children (paid or voluntary) is desirable but not essential
