Graduate Teaching Assistant

Do you have a degree and want to gain hands-on experience in a primary school before progressing into teacher training?

Are you ready to support pupils in KS2 and help them reach their full potential?

*** Graduate Teaching Assistant

*** Immediate start until July 2026

*** £85 - £98 per day

*** Primary school location: Ward of Ladywood

*** 1:1 and small group support across KS2

The Role:

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll work alongside class teachers to provide targeted support to KS2 pupils. You will deliver small group interventions, offer one-to-one assistance, and help children prepare for assessments. Your role will also involve assisting with lesson preparation, tracking pupil progress, and fostering a positive learning environment where every child can succeed.

The Candidate:

You should hold a degree in any subject and have a genuine interest in education. Strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to engage with young learners are essential. Experience in a school setting or working with children will strengthen your application.

Requirements

Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.

Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.

Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.

Desire to work in education/with children – A genuine interest in supporting pupils and progressing into teaching.

Experience working with children – Any relevant experience such as tutoring, mentoring, or volunteering is desirable but not essential.
