GCSE Maths Tutor – Runcorn

Location: Runcorn, Cheshire

Hours: 5–15 hours per week

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a skilled and enthusiastic GCSE Maths Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to learners across Runcorn. This role offers the opportunity to help pupils strengthen their mathematical understanding, close gaps in learning and prepare for examinations in a supportive environment.

The Role:

Deliver targeted GCSE Mathematics tuition.

Cover algebra, number, geometry, statistics and problem–solving.

Identify areas of difficulty and plan focused intervention sessions.

Support revision, exam preparation and confidence–building.

Adapt lessons to suit individual abilities and learning preferences.

Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

QTS, PGCE or an equivalent relevant teaching qualification is desirable.

Strong knowledge of the GCSE Maths curriculum.

Experience teaching or tutoring secondary–aged learners.

Experience supporting pupils who have fallen behind academically is advantageous.

A patient, organised and encouraging teaching style.

To be eligible for this role, the tutor must:

Hold the right to work in the UK.

Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.

Provide two professional references, including child–related references.
