SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)

Location: Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Contract: Full-time

Are you a passionate and dedicated SENCo looking for your next opportunity to make a meaningful impact? Hays Education are working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive school in Bristol to recruit an experienced and committed Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo).This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about improving outcomes for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and who thrives in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

Your New Role:

As SENCo, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high-quality SEN provision across the school. You will:

Lead the strategic development of SEN provision and ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice

Identify, assess, and monitor the progress of pupils with SEND

Work closely with teaching staff to implement effective intervention strategies

Liaise with parents/carers, external agencies, and professionals to support student progress

Manage and support teaching assistants and SEN support staff

Ensure high standards of teaching and learning for all pupils with additional needs

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to work towards it)

Proven experience working with pupils with SEND

Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills

A commitment to inclusive education and improving student outcomes

Knowledge of current SEND legislation and best practices
