Food Picker – Early Morning Shift

Description

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Food Picker to join our client’s team, working within a busy frozen food warehouse in Barking.

This is a physically demanding role involving picking frozen meat products, working in and out of freezer areas, and ensuring orders are prepared accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

* Picking frozen meat products according to customer orders.

* Working in and out of freezer storage areas throughout the shift.

* Handling and lifting heavy products as part of daily duties.

* Ensuring orders are picked accurately and efficiently.

* Following all health and safety, food hygiene and warehouse procedures.

* Reporting damaged packaging or products to the relevant supervisor.

* Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.

* Following instructions and working effectively as part of a team.

Requirements

* Prior experience in warehouse operations, particularly in materials handling, picking, packing, or stocking roles

* Willingness to work early morning hours consistently in a fast-paced environment

* Physically fit and comfortable with heavy manual work.

* Comfortable working in cold and freezer environments.

* Reliable, punctual and hardworking.

* Able to follow instructions and health and safety procedures.

* Good attention to detail and a positive attitude.

* Willing to complete an on-site induction and a basic multiple-choice assessment covering workplace safety and food handling procedures.

Important Information

* Appropriate PPE for working in freezer areas will be provided.

* All candidates must return the required signed documentation before starting, as instructed.

* An induction and basic multiple-choice quiz must be completed on site.

* The role involves regular manual handling and exposure to cold temperatures.

Shift Pattern

Monday to Friday, 4:00am – 1:00pm

Paid Hours: 8 hours per shift

Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour

· 28 days’ annual leave, inclusive of eight bank holidays.

· Online payslips.

· An ongoing assignment with a well-established operation.
