EYFS Teaching Assistant | East Lancashire | September Start

Are you a caring and enthusiastic Early Years practitioner looking for a new opportunity this September? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school (or schools) across East Lancashire.

This is a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026, supporting children at the very beginning of their educational journey.

The Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils within Nursery and/or Reception, helping to create a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

Location: East Lancashire (including Blackburn with Darwen, Burnley, Accrington & surrounding areas)

Start Date: September 2026

Position: EYFS Teaching Assistant

Contract: Full-time, long-term

Pay: Competitive daily rates, paid weekly

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging, play-based EYFS learning.

Working with small groups and individual pupils to support early development.

Encouraging communication, social interaction, and early literacy/numeracy skills.

Creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment.

Supporting pupils' personal, social, and emotional development.

Observing and feeding back on pupil progress where required.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

Hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent experience).

Have experience working within EYFS settings (school or nursery).

Be caring, patient, and enthusiastic about supporting young children.

Have strong communication and teamwork skills.

Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).

Provide professional references and have the legal right to work in the UK.
