Early Years Teaching Assistant (SEN) – Salford – Step Teachers

Location: Salford

Start: ASAP

Pay up to £100/day DoE - paid PAYE

Monday to Friday, term-time only (8:30am–3:30pm)

About the School

* A warm and inclusive primary school in Salford is seeking a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant (SEN) to join their nurturing Early Years team.

* The school provides exceptional support for children with Autism, speech and language needs, and developmental delays, ensuring every child can learn and grow in a safe, stimulating, and caring environment.

Your Role

* Support children in Nursery and Reception with additional needs, both one-to-one and in small groups.

* Assist the class teacher in delivering play-based, personalised learning activities tailored to each child’s developmental stage.

* Encourage progress in communication, social interaction, and independence through structured routines and creative play.

* Implement positive behaviour strategies and support children’s emotional regulation.

* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to promote each child’s holistic development.

What You Need

* Experience supporting Early Years or SEN children (Autism experience desirable).

* A patient, caring, and proactive approach to supporting young learners.

* A strong understanding of child development and inclusive practice.

* Passion for creating a positive, engaging environment where every child can flourish.

Essentials

• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).

• References covering the last 2 years.

• Right to work & proof of address in the UK.
