Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School in Streatham

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs?

At our education recruitment agency, we are currently recruiting for an Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Streatham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young learners with additional needs and helping them thrive in a nurturing Early Years environment.

The Role

As an Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support for children with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language difficulties, and social and emotional needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing 1:1 and small-group SEN support within the EYFS setting.

Assisting pupils to access learning through play-based activities.

Supporting communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.

Implementing strategies outlined in EHCPs and individual support plans.

Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning.

Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

Monitoring progress and providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for candidates who have:

Previous experience working with children in an Early Years, nursery, or primary school setting.

Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly Autism and speech and language needs.

A patient, caring, and proactive approach.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A genuine passion for supporting children's development and wellbeing.

Relevant Teaching Assistant, Childcare, Health & Social Care, or SEN qualifications (desirable but not essential).Why Work Through Us?
