Contract: Part-Time | 4 Hours Per Day | Temporary with a view to Permanent

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Caretaker to join a welcoming secondary school in the London Borough of Croydon. This is a part-time role (4 hours per day), perfect for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and secure school environment.

The successful candidate will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the school, ensuring the site is well presented and fully operational for staff, students, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Open and/or close the school premises each day, ensuring site security.

Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks.

*

Ensure that classrooms, corridors, and communal areas are safe, tidy, and ready for use.

Monitor the condition of the premises and report any health and safety concerns.

*

Support with deliveries, setting up for school events, and moving furniture or equipment as needed.

*

Undertake cleaning or grounds maintenance duties when required.

*

Ensure the school complies with health and safety regulations at all times.

What We’re Looking For:

Previous experience as a caretaker, site assistant, or in a similar facilities/maintenance role (desirable).

Good practical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.

Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
