About the Role

The Supply Register is proud to be working in partnership with Beckfoot Trust to recruit a committed and resilient Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join the team at Hazelbeck School.

Hazelbeck School is a specialist setting supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, including autism, severe learning difficulties, and social, emotional and behavioural needs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils to manage behaviour positively and access education in a structured, nurturing environment.

You will play a key role in helping pupils develop emotional regulation skills, build positive relationships, and engage in learning.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural and emotional needs

Implement behaviour support strategies and individual behaviour plans

Support pupils in developing emotional regulation and coping skills

De-escalate challenging behaviour using a calm and consistent approach

Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils

Support pupils to engage in learning activities and routines

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams

Contribute to a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs or SEN

A calm, patient, and resilient approach

Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

An understanding of safeguarding and child xjnqpsq protection procedures

A proactive and positive attitude towards supporting pupils
