Behaviour Mentor

Location: PRU, Nottingham

Pay Rate: £90 – £110 per day (Depending on experience)

Start Date: September 2025

Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent

GSL Education are seeking a committed and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Nottingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to support young people in a specialist setting, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. You’ll work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to implement effective strategies that promote engagement and positive behaviour.

Responsibilities of a Behaviour Mentor:

Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with behavioural challenges.

Implement tailored behaviour management strategies to support individual needs.

Build trusting relationships with pupils to encourage personal growth and resilience.

Assist in planning and delivering interventions that promote emotional wellbeing.

Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour to staff and parents/carers.

Required Qualifications for a Behaviour Mentor:

Experience working with children or young people with behavioural difficulties is essential.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting vulnerable learners.

Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.

An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
