Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Challenging Behaviour Support)

Location: Burnley

Contract Type: [Full-Time, Term Time Only

Salary: £85 - £90 per day

Start Date: Monday 1st September

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have experience supporting children or young adults with challenging behaviour, particularly in residential childcare or similar settings?

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional behavioural needs in an inclusive and nurturing school environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is calm under pressure, patient, and able to build trusting relationships with children who may find the school environment challenging.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support for a specific pupil throughout the school day, both in and out of the classroom.

Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals to implement behaviour support strategies.

Encourage positive choices and emotional regulation through a trauma-informed approach.

Assist with learning activities, emotional support, and the development of social skills.

Ensure the safety and well-being of the child at all times.About You:

Experience in residential childcare, youth work, or supporting individuals with challenging behaviour is highly desirable.

You do not need formal Teaching Assistant qualifications - training will be provided for the right candidate.

A calm, consistent, and empathetic approach to behaviour management.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

A genuine desire to support children to thrive both academically and emotionally.APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR VERITAS EDUCATION
