There is no remote with this system hence the low price.
The Direct button on the amp activates a mode that bypasses tone control circuits (like bass and treble) to provide a cleaner, more faithful reproduction of the original audio signal. There is a phono input to allow connection to a turntable. It has a loudness button and control of bass, treble and balance.
