For more than 15 years, I have empowered leaders and teams to develop the mindset and methodology required for sustained high performance. As an Olympian, 6-time World Champion and Britain’s most successful female marathon kayaker my work draws on the rigor of world-class sport combined with a deep understanding of human behaviour to create lasting change.

I am a specialist in high performance and resilience, dedicated to helping leaders and teams build the skills, behaviours and culture needed for sustained excellence.

I have lived high performance and resilience… By 24 I I was a three-time World Champion and Olympian, this success was achieved against all the odds. I was told by the British head coach that I was not big enough or strong enough to reach the top. At the peak of my career, I faced a career-threatening diagnosis of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and was told by medical experts I might never race again. I battled my way to full recovery and to win three further world titles and compete in my second Olympic Games. In 2010 I was awarded an MBE for her services to sport.

Since then, my passion has been the science of high performance. I have spent over 15 years as a specialist in the field, founding the training consultancy Beyond the Barriers and working as a leadership and team coach and inspirational speaker. My unique combination of experience in elite sport combined with 16 years leading a successful business and working alongside senior leaders, gives me a profound understanding of the challenges that leaders and teams face and how to overcome them to deliver outstanding results.
