BOSE Update: Jan 7, 2026

In October 2025, we announced cloud support for SoundTouch products would be ending. Since then, we’ve heard from some owners with questions and feedback, and we’ve been listening carefully. Cloud support will still be ending, but we’re extending the date from February 18 to May 6, 2026, to better support you during the transition. This page has been updated to reflect these new options.

Before cloud support ends, the SoundTouch app will get an automatic update.

On May 6, 2026, the app will update to a version that supports the functions that can operate locally without the cloud. No action will be required on your part. Opening the app will apply the update automatically.

What will continue to work:

Streaming music from your favorite apps directly via Bluetooth®, AirPlay, Spotify Connect, and AUX
Setting up and configuring your system
Remote control features, such as Play, Pause, Skip, and Volume
Grouping multiple speakers together
What will no longer work:

Presets (preset buttons on the product and in the app)
Browsing or playing music services directly from the SoundTouch app
Stereo pairing for SoundTouch 10
Important note: Your system will no longer receive security and software updates. Please make sure to always use your system on a secure, private network.

How to keep listening after May 6

You can continue enjoying music through your favorite music services (i.e. TuneIn and Pandora) by streaming directly from their apps and sending the audio to your SoundTouch system using AirPlay, Bluetooth, or AUX. Soundbars and home theater systems can still use HDMI or optical connections for TV audio.

If you use Spotify, you can continue streaming with Spotify Connect through the Spotify app.

With the Bose SoundTouch cloud going away, you will lose access to Presets and System Updates. Please take note of any saved presets that you would like to listen to after the cloud is offline and refer to the SoundTouch End-of-service Guidance for instructions on how to set up those presets as favorites within your music service apps.

Additionally, please use the Bose SoundTouch app to update your systems to the latest firmware version. System updates will no longer be available after the cloud is offline.

Open-source options for the community

We’re making our technical specifications available so that independent developers can create their own SoundTouch-compatible tools and features. The documentation is available here: SoundTouch API Documentation.
