Waking Night Support Worker, GL54. £21.63 gross per hour. A rewarding opportunity to support Owen, a bright and sociable 15-year-old with cerebral palsy. Owen loves football, is a keen Arsenal fan and thrives with a calm, positive approach.

Key Information

Job Title: Waking Night Support Worker
Pay: £21.63 gross per hour
Location: GL54
Start Date: ASAP
Hours and Days of Work: Friday, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, waking night. There will be opportunities to pick up additional daytime hours during the school holidays. These are not compulsory and will be agreed in advance with the family, depending on the family’s plans and the Support Worker’s availability.
Essential Experience: Experience in care, education, therapy or nannying; confidence supporting a young person with additional needs; familiarity with overnight support; and a flexible attitude to family life.
Driver Required: Preferred due to rural location; reliable taxi, Uber or lift arrangements may be considered.
Family Pets: Two small dogs
Accommodation / Facilities: Separate bed in Owen’s bedroom for overnight downtime, with access to shared family facilities.

Owen, 15, is bright, warm and sociable, with a real passion for football. He has cerebral palsy affecting all four limbs, is a full-time wheelchair user and benefits from calm reassurance, clear communication and extra processing time.

This role offers the chance to build a positive relationship with Owen while supporting his personal care, mobility, communication and overnight routine. Full training is provided, including therapist input.

The role would suit a reliable, practical Support Worker who is comfortable with personal care and moving and handling and enjoys working within a family home. Owen’s parents are supportive and will provide guidance with transfers.
