About the Client: Nina is an 18-year-old young woman who enjoys baking, shopping, making cups of tea, imaginative role play (shops, doctors), word games and puzzles. She may be shy initially but thrives with consistent 1:1 support. Nina has a functional visual impairment and epilepsy, which is well managed with medication and a ketogenic diet. She is fairly independent but requires close supervision due to the risk of seizures and falls. Personal care is minimal, supported by a self-washing/bidet-style toilet to maintain dignity.
The Role at a Glance: You will collect Nina from sixth form at 3:00pm (a 10-minute drive from home) and support her during relaxed, enjoyable after-school sessions focused on her favourite activities. Meals are prepared by Nina’s mum; your role includes warming and serving food. During school holidays, support extends to longer activity sessions and occasional shopping trips. You’ll provide supervision on stairs and when out walking, following clear safety guidance. From September 2026, Nina will attend college in Surrey during the week and return home for weekends and holidays, with holiday-only support potentially continuing beyond August 2026.
This Job Would Suit: A patient, engaging and compassionate *female SEN Support Worker who enjoys building trusting relationships, supporting epilepsy safely, and working closely with a warm, respectful family.
Why You’ll Love This Role: This is a rewarding opportunity to form a meaningful bond with Nina and support her confidence and independence in a calm, nurturing environment. You’ll be genuinely valued by a supportive family and make a lasting difference.
Recruitment Process: Managed through Snap Care’s Shortlist Service. Suitable applicants’ details will be shared with the client/case manager to progress recruitment. Unfortunately, sponsorship is not available.
