Description

Part-time *female SEN Support Worker, TN15. Supporting an engaging, energetic and fun-loving 15-year-old young lady with an Acquired Brain Injury. Up to £27,934.00 + Gross Per Annum.

Nearest Station: Borough Green (1.2 miles away)

Salary/Wage: £20.20 per Weekday | £22.20 per Weekend | £27,934.00 per annum (for 4 afternoons and an alternate weekend day). All figures quoted in gross

Driving Requirements: Yes, with own car to travel to and from the family/client home, as it is a remote property

Essential: Experience supporting clients with epilepsy/seizure management, and working within a family setting. Applicants must be comfortable working in a family home with large dogs and other pets, and be a non-smoker/vaper. This role is open to *female applicants only.

Start Date: ASAP

Days & Hours: 2, 3 or 4 afternoons between Monday and Thursday, 4.00 pm – 9.00 pm, plus alternate Saturday or Sunday 9.00 am-9.00 pm

Pets in Home: 4 Large dogs, 2 cats and 2 Sugar Gliders

About the Client: Alice is 15 and lives at home with her mum, stepdad and stepsister. She has an acquired brain injury, epilepsy, a learning disability, hearing loss and a movement disorder affecting all four limbs. Alice uses an electric wheelchair when out and communicates verbally using short sentences; clear, simple communication is required. She enjoys horse riding, creative play and colouring. Alice spends alternate weekends with her dad and lives in a household with multiple pets, including large dogs.

The Role at a Glance: You will support Alice after school and on alternate weekend days. Support includes engaging her in structured activities, assisting with personal care, mobility and clinical needs, and following epilepsy management protocols (training provided). Alice may display behaviours that challenge, requiring a calm and consistent approach. Record keeping and incorporating therapy programmes (physio, OT, SALT and later music therapy) are part of the role. Alice’s mum is always nearby, and you will not be working alone. Applicants must be comfortable working in a busy home with pets.

This Job Would Suit: A confident and energetic *female Support Worker with experience supporting epilepsy and working in a family home. Applicants must be comfortable around large dogs and other pets and be a non-smoker/vaper.
