Vintage Retro 60's style Ercol Windsor display cabinet / shelving unit

For sale very rare Ercol Windsor Shelving Unit / Bookcase/ Display Cabinet / Dresser in Ercol Traditional Finish with original Ercol label.

The unit was manufactured in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire and is now back in fashion (keenly collected and highly regarded). Ercol furniture is synonymous with good design, quality materials and craftsmanship and is built for longevity. This is a real eye catching piece of vintage retro which is no longer in production.

The unit is a lovely combination of sideboard / cupboard at the bottom and display cabinet with two glass, height adjustable shelves (with a plate groove) at the top. The cabinet section has two large doors, they both have inset bevelled edge glass panels and solid elm frames. The top section has two internal lights fixed to the underside, complete with on/off switch, making it ideal for display purposes. The base unit has height-adjustable shelf inside. The doors are fitted with hugely stylish oval inset handles which prove to be such an appealing feature of the Ercol Windsor range. Please note that the top and bottom can be separated for an easier transportation.

The unit is superbly crafted and made from solid elm with the exception of the nicely grained elm veneered back panels, and the dovetailed corners at the top and bottom of each section emphasize how well constructed this piece is, as do the full length hinges which are fitted to the doors.

The piece is in excellent (original) vintage condition with with some light marks commensurate with age and use. It is free of any damage, repairs or wear to joints. It has been cleaned and waxed. There is a small scratch on the edge of right, bottom cupboard door (please refer to photo). Original Ercol label is still attached.
