Production Planner

Location: Burghfield Full-time on-site

Contract: Until 31 December 2027

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Security Clearance: Active DV Clearance Required

We are currently recruiting for experienced Production Planners to join a highly regulated engineering and manufacturing environment based in Burghfield.

This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with a background in production planning, manufacturing, materials, or precision engineering to support operational delivery by managing production schedules, coordinating manufacturing requirements, and driving effective planning processes.

The successful candidates will play a key role in ensuring production demands are accurately planned, resources are aligned, and delivery targets are achieved while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and support the Master Production Schedule and supplementary schedules, ensuring forecast dates remain accurate. Develop detailed manufacturing plans in response to operational requirements, considering time, cost, and quality. Maintain accurate production information within local MRP systems. Support production control activities using lean planning techniques, including visual management, Kanban, and Push/Pull processes. Identify and resolve production delays, constraints, and barriers to delivery. Coordinate with manufacturing teams, supply chain, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure balanced and achievable production plans. Support production cost and schedule estimates. Monitor and report on key performance indicators and production performance. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence activities. Build strong working relationships across engineering, manufacturing, and delivery teams.

Essential Experience

Proven experience in production planning within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment. Background in engineering, manufacturing, materials, or related production disciplines. Strong understanding of manufacturing routes, machining processes, and shop-floor operations. Experience managing: Material availability Supplier deliveries Purchase orders Production schedules Supply chain challenges and reforecasting Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to analyse production data, track performance, and provide accurate planning updates. Good computer literacy and experience using planning/reporting systems.

Desirable Experience

Experience using SAP or ERP/MRP systems. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and production control methodologies. Experience working within complex or highly regulated engineering environments.

Additional Information

This position is fully site-based in Burghfield. Successful candidates will be required to attend site for induction, kit retrieval, and a medical appointment as part of the onboarding process. The role supports a diverse and inclusive working environment, with eligibility for relevant guaranteed interview schemes where applicable.
