Codification Engineer

Description

Our client has an opportunity for a Codification Engineer to join them on a contract basis for 12 months. You will be supporting the codification process of codifying assemblies and components in accordance with the MoD process standards that define codification requirements.

Role: Codification Engineer

Location: Stevenage, 1-2 days per week onsite

Hours: 37 per week

Hourly Rate: 35- 45 per hour via Umbrella, inside IR35

Clearance: BPSS required to start, full SC to follow. UK Eyes Only due to project

What you'll be doing:

To support the UK projects in the NATO Stock Number (NSN) codification process of codifying assemblies and components in accordance with the MoD process standards that define codification requirements SSCP47, JSP886 Vol 2 CH 4 and DEFCON 117Co-ordination and management & maintaining NSN codification configuration with SAP part numbers and technical informationAct as the focal point of contact to the MoD for NSN codificationProvide codification support change process.Support NATO codification using the Codification Support Information System (CSIS) - UK National Codification BureauUtilisation of Matrix/PLM database - our in-house engineering and item configuration tool.Using the MCL Unitex database to check for existing Nato Stock Numbers

Requirements:

Ability to use judgment based on the analysis of factual information provided by the team and other stakeholders to derive positive and compliant resultsAbility to prioritise multiple complex issuesKnowledge of how supporting functions work e.g. ILS, GFE, ITAR, Configuration Management, Commercial, EngineeringKnowledge and experience of how Engineering, Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams integrate to develop a productUnderstanding of the legal and regulatory environment into which we operate and function and consideration of MoD codification processes, existing and updates that may influence codification of componentsIf you are interested in applying for this position and you meet the requirements, please apply!
