Anatomical Pathology Technologist, Birmingham, GBP25 per hour, Interim Job Opportunity: Anatomical Pathology Technologist (Grade 4) Location: Central Mortuary, Birmingham

Contract: 6 months (with potential extension)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

Rate: Up to GBP24.91 per hour

Are you a qualified Anatomical Pathology Technologist looking for a meaningful role in a professional mortuary setting? We're recruiting for a Grade 4 APT to join the Central Mortuary team in Birmingham, supporting the Birmingham and Solihull Senior Coroner and other jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:Undertake all duties in the post-mortem room, including assisting with autopsies and sample collection.Receive, register, store, and release deceased individuals in line with HTA and internal procedures.Maintain high standards of hygiene and equipment care within the mortuary.Liaise with funeral directors, contractors, and families to ensure respectful and efficient service delivery.Ensure accurate record-keeping using the Coroners IT system.Support viewings and manage personal effects with care and confidentiality.Requirements:Qualified Anatomical Pathology Technologist.Physically fit to manage lifting and manual handling duties.Able to start work by 8:00 AM daily to support morning post-mortems.Comfortable working in cold and occasionally unpleasant conditions.Strong attention to detail and ability to work confidentially and respectfully.This is a vital role within a dedicated team, offering the opportunity to contribute to a sensitive and essential public service.
