Finance Manager – German Operations (UK–Based)

Fluent German required

A UK–based business with established operations in Germany is looking to appoint a hands–on Finance Manager to take full ownership of the finance function for its German entities.

This is a practical, delivery–focused role where you will be responsible for running finance from top to bottom, from month–end and statutory reporting through to German VAT and day–to–day financial control. The role is UK–based, working closely with German stakeholders, advisors, and the UK Group finance team.

What you'll be doing

Running the day–to–day finance function for the German business

Preparing monthly management accounts, analysis, and commentary

Owning the month–end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash management

Producing statutory accounts under German GAAP (HGB)

Managing German VAT filings and compliance

Working with German auditors, tax advisors, and external providers

Acting as the main finance contact for German–speaking stakeholders

Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and group reporting

What we're looking for

Fluent German and English (spoken and written)

Proven experience running a full finance function end to end

Strong, hands–on knowledge of German accounting standards (HGB)

Practical experience of German VAT

Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)

Experience working for a UK–headquartered business with overseas operations

Comfortable working autonomously and close to the detail

Strong financial control and problem–solving skills
