Description
Here I have two big Suzuki bikes for sale. One is a Harris with GSX-R 1100 engine, forks, wheels and clocks. The other is a standard GSF-1200S Bandit. The Harris with a British hand built nickel plated frame was first registered in 1985. I have documetation from the Harris company to prove this. It left the factory originally with a GS1000 engine and it's model name was a Magnum. A friend owned this bike in the 1990's and I very much admired it. Such a gorgeous machine. I always wanted to own it, but it was out of my price range at the time. I believe the last time it was taxed and used on the road was 1999. Some time after that, my friend decided to dismantle it and make it look pretty again. It was taken apart and put into boxes. Sadly, that was were it stayed until it was offered to me in very early 2020. I bought it, with the best of intentions. It arrived here in it's boxes and put back into storage until November this year when I simply reassembled it. There has always been massive interest in the Harris, and I attempted to sell it about 18months ago, but being in boxes help. This week I dug it out to put it together just to see what I had actually bought. As you can see by the pictures, there are one or two minor parts missing.. .....the headlight, one rear light lens, drive chain, side stand and one ignition coil. The seat padding is in my shed. I forgot to put it on for the photo's. I know this bike was in good running order when it was dismantled in the 90's. As you can see, my friend has started to rub down the tank and seat piece. The tank filler cap and taps are in a bag. The nickel plated frame is in good order, but does have gentle surface rust in places which will clean off with a gentle rub with wire wool and WD40. The brake lines are there, but will need new ends due to how they were removed. Brake calipers are free. Rear shock is a "White power" with remote reservoir. The wiring loom needs attention, if not, replacing.
My vision of this bike was to rebuild the Harris with a Suzuki Bandit 1200 engine and electrics etc. A far superior engine over the peaky GSX-R 1000 engine. The Bandit has all it's power low down producing greater torque and rideability. Three years ago, I bought a donor bike, a GSF 1200S Mark 1 Bandit. These bikes were labelled as a pure "Hooligan" bike due to it's ability to wheely for no rear reason other than enthusiastic riding. The bike I bought was a one owner 31,000 mile bike in great running order but a little untidy due to it not being garaged. The previous owner, in a attempt to smarten the bike up removed the exhaust and snapped two studs. Not a big problem as I was intendind to use the engine in the Harris anyway, so the engine was taken out of the Bandit ready for the on going project. That was that. The Bandit is currently jammed into my shed, but I will dig it out and update the pictures when I get chance. For the past few years, both bikes have just sat in my workshop, untouched. My desire to ride such a wicked bike is fading fast as old age sets in. I am 67. I also have some other projects which nreed to be addressed, so the extra space would help me. So, To sum up....for your money you get two bikes. Both were in great running order when taken off the road. You could rebuild both and sell separately, or merge the two into one superbike. All questions answered honestly but I do not check my PC everyday for messages, so a reply may not be immediate. I do answer my phone when I am free to do so, and will answer texts. I appreciate that having the two bikes is not what everyone would want so I would consider selling them separately, but obviously would prefer to sell the two at once. Still lots to talk about regarding both bikes, so if you are interested, then get in touch. The price is open for discussion also, as long as any offers are realistic. All the best.
