I was unfortunate to come upon this guy on the internet as I was about to move homes. He took money from me claiming it was for dismantling and reassembling of the furniture. He sent me 3 incompetent guys and a van which he insisted I had to pay £100 per hour as separate charge to money he already collected. The 3 guys turned up and in a nut shell destroyed my furniture and did nothing to reassemble any if the furniture they took down themselves. I later discovered they were a different company to this Alam guy altogether and all he did was con me out of the initial money and then booked the 3 guys with the agreement that they give him £40 per hour of the £100 he negotiated with me. That's criminal. I am currently trying to claim my money back through the small claims court. I have taken time to do this as it's my civic duty to warn other unsuspecting members of the public about businesses like this. RESPONSE TO ALAM REMOVALS LIES BELOW: I don't want to go into a diatribe with this unscrupulous business called Alam Removals but I'll respond to the lies posted below. I am not complaining about paying I am complaining about taking money and not doing the job. You took nearly £700 from me for dismantling and reassembly then asked me to pay £100 per hour for 3 men and a van. What transpired was that the company u sent to me didn't know they were supposed to dismantle and reassemble but tried to do it as they probably needed money and were on site. The built-in wardrobes by the way were straight linear wardrobes nothing fancy or tricky about them - see photo for one of them - but your cowboy accomplices still couldn't fit them at the new address after managing to dismantle them. They laboured with it, didn't even know what parts went in which wardrobe or cabinet and became a nuisance when it got about 2am in the morning with my baby asleep. They asked for full pay for the hours and that they'll return the following day but didn't turn up after collecting their money for the previous day. I then called you when they didn't turn up and being the greedy person you are you decided to send me a handy man and then quoted me £90/hour which I accepted against better judgement in hindsight but at the time I had a home with wood, nails and all sorts of carpentry bits lying around and wanted to make it safe especially for my toddler. The chap arrived and once I explained the job to him and told him in no uncertain terms I won't be messed about a second time he told me everything about himself. I gave him money to pay his way back but before then, he put you in the phone so I heard your conversation. You are a fraud or at best in this situation you have acted very fraudulently. If you want more from me then please respond with more lies and I'll reply. Sensible people should ask what professional handyman travels on a train to a job over an hour from their home? I dare you to lie again and please sue me you know my address.
