Description
Selling my beloved Tascam 38 reel to reel. It's an ideal tape machine for anyone looking to get into 8 track recording or playing with mastering stuff to tape (and back again). I have not been able to use it for a couple of years since moving house.
You can see that the unit is in generally very good clean condition, all lights and VU meters are working. LED screen is working. All inputs are working. Only the little cover for the pitch control is missing but it still functions.
I think it needs a replacement capstan belt - they sell for about £15 on eBay. Fast forward and rewind is working fine but pressing play is not (this is a sign of the belt needing replacement. The capstan motor appears to be spinning just fine).
I've listed this at a price to reflect that you may wish to pay for a service. You may wish to do it yourself (manual is included). I no longer own a mixing desk and unfortunately do not have the time anymore to work with it.
Comes with the manual, a remote control, and a reel of RMG Studio Master 900 tape (RRP £60)
This thing weighs about 25kg so collection only from E11. Sad to see it go but doing far less recording at home nowadays.
