ERA Mk6 Turntable with SME 3009 Series II Improved Tonearm

Vintage ERA Mk6 turntable fitted with the highly regarded SME 3009 Series II Improved fixed-headshell tonearm.

I have owned this turntable for some time and it has been connected to my hi-fi system, although it has seen relatively little use recently. I have tested it again before sale and it is playing very nicely. Both 33 and 45 rpm are working correctly, the platter runs straight and the SME arm tracks well.

Currently fitted with an Audio-Technica MM cartridge, which is working well and gives a pleasant, forgiving sound, particularly with older records.

Overall the turntable is in very good cosmetic condition for its age and presents really well.

The smoked dust cover is also in decent condition considering its age, with some light scratches, a few deeper marks and a small damaged area on the front edge, which is shown in the photos.

A few points to mention:

• Both 33 and 45 rpm tested and working correctly
• SME 3009 Series II Improved fixed-headshell tonearm
• Audio-Technica MM cartridge fitted
• Platter runs straight and tracking is good
• A little mechanical running noise can be heard when standing very close to the turntable, but I do not notice it during normal music playback
• This is vintage equipment and has not recently been professionally serviced

Collection only due to the age and delicate SME tonearm.
