Bereavement Counselling

Description

Hello, I’m Yvonne and I've been supporting my clients and enabling them to find ways to overcome life's difficulties for over four years now, offering support in areas of anger management, anxiety, self-esteem, depression, relationships, but my specialist area is bereavement.

I understand first-hand what it is like to suffer loss having lost parents, grandparents, and friends and experienced miscarriages. I feel privileged to be able to offer help to my clients by coming alongside them with empathy, helping them to work through their grief and in time to find hope and purpose in life again.

Working online enables my clients to talk in the comfort of their own home, without the pressure of having to travel, particularly if they've had an emotional session. My sessions are an hour long, rather than the standard 50-minute sessions often offered, giving plenty of time to share and work together at a relaxed pace.

I realise that when faced with loss it can be difficult to know who to turn to – it can be hard to talk to our family and friends because either they’re trying to come to terms with a loss too or we don’t want to impose on them and their busy lives.

My counselling sessions provide a ‘safe place’ to off-load and work through thoughts and feelings that we struggle with in a time of loss. There is no right or wrong time to address grief, and no set way either and my clients feel safe to share without any fear of judgment.

I can particularly empathise with clients who have lost pets too, who may feel concerned about the intensity of their grief. I can help with recent losses, that may be causing numbness, or losses of many years ago, whether through death or other losses in life that we so often find challenging (broken relationships, job loss, and major life changes).

I also understand how difficult it can be to experience anticipatory grief, when a loved one has a terminal illness, and you want to be strong and present for them, but are struggling to keep your own head above water.

My clients often find that by the time they're able to address their grief others have moved on, and are unaware of the mask that is so often worn on the outside. Relations and friends often fail to recognise the enormity of the impact of loss, particularly for those who lose a husband, wife or partner, often of many years.

If you feel numb, confused, or facing overwhelming sadness, guilt, anger, or regret, please don't struggle alone.

I will provide a listening ear, coming alongside you and supporting you through the grieving process, helping you to make sense of your grief and in time enabling you cope with life again, and even to find hope and purpose despite your loss.

Yvonne has been absolutely excellent in helping me cope and come to terms with 2 bereavements I had quite close together. She offers a kind, empathetic and safe atmosphere to discuss your thoughts and feelings. I couldn’t recommend her enough. She is amazing at what she does.

After struggling with a miscarriage and losing my father this year I decided it was time to reach out for help. That’s when Yvonne contacted me through bark. I instantly felt at ease talking to Yvonne over the phone so went ahead and booked 4 sessions of bereavement counselling. Yvonne took the time to listening and help me through my grief and she just “got it”. I would highly recommend Yvonne and look forward to catching up with her again in the new year. Yvonne, thank you so much for helping me move forward. You are an absolute angel.

I decided to have some grief counselling as I lost my husband 4 years ago, and I was finding it difficult to move forward. Yvonne was kind considerate and helpful in helping me through this. Having someone to talk to in a safe space was very helpful. I’m feeling stronger now with Yvonne’s help and can’t recommend her enough. Thank you so much.
