Red Oak, otherwise known as Quercus rubra, is a beautiful deciduous tree that brings scale, structure and brilliant autumnal colour to landscapes. Known for its broad canopy and vibrant scarlet foliage in autumn, this North American native has become a popular feature tree in larger UK gardens and parks.
In spring and summer, the large, lobed leaves are a fresh, deep green, creating a lush, shady canopy. As the season changes, the foliage turns a fiery red to russet, often holding its colour well into late autumn – Red Oak is a real showstopper against a clear autumn sky.
