I am a professional freelance event, sport, editorial and lifestyle photographer based in Edinburgh. My clients include private individuals, businesses, charities, clubs and independent schools. My photography is reportage (documentary) in nature, but extends into the creative elements to manage subjects and the scene to capture the best photos. I have worked with Dougal both personally and professionally and on every occasion he is brilliant; calm, professional and charming. Most recently he photographed our family and did an amazing job of keeping the children happy and smiley and even managed to get some fab shots of the dog! I love the results and would 100% recommend to friends and family.

We have worked with Dougal for several years now and he is always our 'go-to' when it comes to us requiring school events or the day to day life of the school to be recorded photographically. He works closely with us to realise the aims of each task we have set out to achieve and works very unobtrusively to take a comprehensive range of high quality shots for us to use, in our marketing and/or social media output or simply for sharing with parents as a record of their child's experiences and successes. Dougal also works very effectively and at a good pace to ensure that we have the resulting photographs rapidly for us to use and this has greatly assisted us in making the most of particular successes in our school year.

Dougal was absolutely fantastic. Our guests loved being in the spotlight and he captured the whole evening beautifully. His attention to detail and ability to follow the brief were exceptional, and the photos were delivered very quickly. The Pink Ribbon Foundation had the pleasure of working with Dougal for our BOLD Scotland exhibition at the Scottish Parliament in early February, and I honestly couldn’t recommend him more highly. As a London-based charity organising an event in Scotland, we didn’t have established photography contacts locally - so finding Dougal was a real stroke of luck.
He was friendly, professional, punctual, and immediately put everyone at ease. Most importantly, the images he delivered were absolutely brilliant. He perfectly captured the atmosphere, emotion and importance of the exhibition, and the quality of the photographs exceeded our expectations.
