Black Magic Studios brings a unique fusion of aerial and ground-based filmmaking to events across the South Coast and beyond. Founded by an ex-teacher with a nerdy obsession for all things aviation, I swapped the classroom for the camera and drone to combine my technical know-how with a creative passion for storytelling. Today, I capture events from perspectives that surprise, engage and leave a lasting impression.

Using professional-grade kit, including the DJI Mavic 3 Pro for crisp, cinematic aerials and the Sony FX3 with quality lenses for dynamic cinematic ground shots, I provide complete visual coverage that flows seamlessly from the sky to the stage. Every frame is carefully crafted, from the initial shot to the final edit, so you receive content that’s not just beautiful but built to tell your story.

I work on a wide range of events; weddings, corporate gatherings, festivals, product launches and I pride myself on delivering high-quality, creative visuals with a friendly, professional approach. My clients value the mix of innovation and reliability I bring to the table, knowing they’ll walk away with a film that captures the atmosphere, emotion and energy of their event in a way that stands out.

We are so happy we chose Tom for our wedding! From the very beginning, he was professional, friendly, and incredibly easy to work with. On the day of the wedding, he blended in seamlessly worked well with our photographer and was just lovely to be around! When capturing all the special moments it never feeling intrusive or staged.
