Description

Service Care Legal are currently recruiting on behalf of an East London Borough Council who are seeking a Senior Property Lawyer to join their team on a contract basis providing high-quality legal advice and support on a wide range of property and regeneration matters.

ROLE: Senior Property Lawyer

LOCATION: East London

RATE: £50–£55 per hour umbrella / £48.46ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £43.24ph PAYE exc. holiday pay

CONTRACT: Initial 3 months with possibility of extension, 36 hours per week

Please note that this role would require office attendance 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

Provide specialist legal advice on all aspects of property law, including development, regeneration, land transactions, home ownership and related matters.

Manage a varied caseload of both residential and commercial property work.

Draft, review and negotiate complex agreements, leases, contracts and related documentation.

Support council committees and directorates with legal guidance, deputising for senior colleagues when required.

Undertake advocacy in courts or tribunals where necessary.

Contribute to the delivery of an efficient, responsive and customer-focused legal service.Requirements

Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, FILEX or equivalent.

Extensive experience in property law, ideally with knowledge of the local government environment.

Strong understanding of property development and regeneration work.

Ability to manage a demanding caseload independently.
