6x4 cm's - Biography ~~ In my print work, I endeavour to capture an atmosphere using the play of light and shade, figures and architecture. I usually work in the discipline of etching and aquatint in which it is possible to show tonal values. Working from back-to-front, light to dark and timing the acid to provide the correct jumps in tone is always a test. The combination of art and craft is what I find so challenging and exciting.” I am fascinated by conveying people and architecture in a moody atmospheric manner which can tell a story. I love to capture the play of light and tonality of an image.
I also paint in oils and have taught adults for many years. I particularly enjoy portraiture and have painted some well know people.
I have exhibited three years running at the RA Summer Exhibition and other well known galleries in London and around Britain. I have received five awards in printmaking and have been invited on two occasions to demonstrate printmaking at Art in Action.
