Description
Original 1970s watercolour painting of Ballycastle boat slip. Painting 9 x 13 ins. Frame 19.5 x 16
Artist is Samuel McLarnon (1923-2013) born in Larne, County Antrim where he studied art at Larne Technical School. Here he was the recipient of several awards, along with a Diploma in illustration. His preferred medium was watercolours and his subjects were primarily Antrim coastal scenes. McLarnon opened a studio in Main Street Larne and exhibited there annually for 28 years. He was a founding member of Larne Art Club, helped found the Ulster Watercolour Society, and was a life member of Carnlough Art Club.
